Choose Plaster based on the use
Plaster has different properties depending on where it is to be used. You should therefore choose Plaster based on where you plan to use it and how smooth a surface you want. Here are some common types:
Wall Plaster
Wall Plaster can be used on most wall and ceiling surfaces. The grains in the wall Plaster can be of different thicknesses. The finer the grain, the smoother the surface you will get.
Roll-on Plaster
A roll-on Plaster is rolled onto the surface. It can be used for large surfaces and for covering fibreglass fabric or textured wallpaper, for example.
Wet room Plaster
Wet room Plaster is specially developed to be applied in bathroom environments and protects your wet zones against the ingress of moisture and mould.
Floor Plaster
Floor Plaster is used to level the subfloor before flooring. It hardens quickly and can withstand high loads.
Self-levelling floor screed
Self-levelling floor screed is used to create a completely flat surface on, for example, concrete floors.
Outdoor Plaster
Outdoor Plaster is specially designed for use in outdoor environments and is extra-resistant to weather and wind.
Woodwork Plaster
Woodwork Plaster is used to repair cracks and smooth the surface of wooden structures. Woodwork Plaster is more pliable, which means that the wood can move without the Plaster cracking.
Ready-mixed Plaster or powder?
Plasters are sold either in ready-mixed tubes and buckets or as a powder. Ready-mixed Plaster can be used immediately, while the powder must be mixed with water. It’s up to you whether you want to mix it yourself or not.
