Uses of planter boxes and garden boxes
Planter boxes are versatile and can be used for a variety of things in the garden, on the balcony, or on the patio.
Grow in the city
Planter boxes are ideal for urban gardening on small balconies, terraces, or patios. They make it possible for city dwellers to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers despite limited space.
Decorating in the garden
Planter boxes can be used as decorative elements in garden design. They add texture and height to garden beds and create a visually appealing layout.
Growing vegetables
Planter boxes are perfect for growing vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and carrots. They provide a controlled environment for the plants, and make care and harvesting easier.
Create a herb garden
Planter boxes are perfect for growing herbs. They make it easy to have fresh herbs on hand for cooking.
Flower arrangements
Use planter boxes to create beautiful flower arrangements. You can mix different flowers and plants to create a colourful and lush garden or patio.
Protection against pests
By placing planter boxes in elevated locations, you can reduce the risk of pests infesting the plants. This also creates a physical barrier for some soil-based pests.

Cultivation boxes and accessories FAQs
How deep should a planter box be for vegetable growing?
The depth of a vegetable planter box depends on the vegetables you plan to grow. Generally, the depth should be at least 20-30 centimetres for small vegetables like lettuce and herbs, while larger vegetables, such as carrots and tomatoes, may require a deeper box of 45-60 centimetres for optimal root growth.
Do I need to put ground cloth at the bottom of my garden box?
It is not always necessary to lay ground cloth at the bottom of the garden box, but it can be beneficial for preventing weeds from coming up from below. If you lay ground cloth, make sure it has adequate drainage to avoid water accumulation. You can also place a planter box tray underneath.
