Fitting and replacing saddles – adjusting the angle and height
The saddle best suited to you depends on your riding style and the type of bike you have. If you sit upright while riding, you can have a wider saddle. If you have a sporty bike and lead forward while riding, a slightly narrower saddle is a better option.
When fitting your saddle, it’s also important to set the angle and position so that you sit comfortably. Don’t forget to tighten the saddle firmly before you sit on it!
In the video below, we explain how to easily mount a new saddle on your bike.
Instructions:
- Use an Allen key to loosen the saddle clamp.
- Use grease to create a film covering approximately half of the saddle post. Wipe off excess grease after adjusting the height.
- Thread the saddle post into the frame tube, but make sure that the saddle post is inserted far enough down so that the frame tube covers the minimum mark.
- Tighten the saddle clamp when you have set your preferred saddle height.
- Loosen the nuts under the saddle with a 13 mm spanner. Some models have nuts that can be loosened with an Allen key.
- Adjust to a comfortable angle and position (forwards/backwards).
- Tighten the saddle so that it cannot move.
